The Metro Atlanta Philharmonic Orchestra was started in the fall of 2017 with one goal in mind: making great music with a fantastic community of musicians.

When Abigail Popwell started the orchestra, she wanted to bring a large ensemble to the southwest side of Atlanta, an area often left out of the orchestral scene. It started with just a few players looking to perform in their spare time, then grew over the first year to a hidden phenomenon in South Fulton County. Now, after a brief hiatus, they are back and better than ever, performing tons of music written by classical, pops, and modern composers.

The reincarnation of the MAP Orchestra will be housed in the illustrious Southwest Arts Center during the 2020 season, the first facility in Fulton County dedicated to the arts. We hope you come out to our first performance of the season, TWO (Themes on the Second), performing pieces by Ludwig van Beethoven, Georges Bizet, and Karin Banks.
